En tránsito / In Transit
Una línea atraviesa la ciudad. No es una calle ni una frontera, pero funciona como ambas. A lo largo de sus veinte kilómetros, conecta zonas rurales, centros industriales, barrios obreros, almacenes, casas flotantes, cicatrices urbanas. También separa.
Este proyecto parte de esa línea y de la intención de escuchar lo que sucede a sus márgenes. Explora los espacios intermedios, los bordes, lo que queda al margen de las representaciones oficiales de Bruselas. En estos márgenes se cruzan historias de migración, de trabajo y desposesión, de tránsito y de espera. Lo que une a estas imágenes no es una narrativa cerrada, sino una forma de estar: caminar, observar, habitar el umbral.
No es una documentación del espacio, es una lectura visual de un territorio liminal: un ecosistema en transformación, donde el agua es menos visible que sus efectos, y donde la ciudad aparece como una suma de fragmentos. El proyecto representa espacios intermedios donde las jerarquías se disuelven y donde las identidades coexisten en fricción o suspensión.
ENG | A line runs through the city. It is neither a street nor a border, yet it functions as both. Along its twenty kilometres, it connects rural areas, industrial centres, working-class neighbourhoods, warehouses, houseboats, urban scars. It also divides.
This project begins with that line and the intention to listen to what happens at its edges. It explores in-between spaces, borders, what lies outside the official representations of Brussels. At these margins, stories of migration, labour and dispossession, transit and waiting intersect. What binds these images is not a closed narrative, but a way of being: walking, observing, inhabiting the threshold.
This is not a documentation of space, but a visual reading of a liminal territory: an ecosystem in transformation, where water is less visible than its effects, and where the city appears as a sum of fragments. The project portrays in-between spaces where hierarchies dissolve and identities coexist in friction or suspension.
